The purpose of our United Church Women (UCW) group is to unite the women of the Park Avenue United Pastoral Charge for the total mission of the United Church, and to provide a medium through which they may express their loyalty and devotion to Jesus Christ in Christian witness, study, fellowship and service.

Fireside Unit

This group of dedicated ladies has been very active in the life of Park Avenue for over 60 years. Sadly, due to advancing years and accompanying health problems, there are now only four members who are able to attend meetings. Although they have been unable to hold meetings this year, they are hopeful to start up again with the onset of warmer weather. Those members that can, are always eager to help and continue to provide assistance and support to other UCW activities within our church. Their faith- filled Christian example over the past six decades serves as an inspiration to us all.

Growing Trends Unit

This group meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays at 7:15 pm. Our meeting consists of a short devotional time, a business meeting and a time of tea and fellowship. During the year we usually hold several fundraisers which allow us to contribute to the on-going expenses of our church. We also support various outreach projects including a World Vision foster child, the Women's Hospital Auxiliary and the United Church Clothing Depot. From time to time we invite speakers to take part in our meetings. Although much of our energy goes into service, we have always enjoyed and valued the spirit of fellowship and friendship that exists in our group. We would welcome new members.

Red Head United UCW

The Red Head UCW meets on the third Thursday of every month at 7 PM at Red Head United Church. All are welcome.
